2015 Priority -  Finish Launch Control Building

PictureThis historic photo of the Launch Control Building shows what it looked like during the Cold War.
Thanks to our many friends and supporters, FONSS has had an amazing 2014!
Highlights:
  • National Nike Veterans Reunion and three-day Cold War Conference
  • 5 fully-subscribed public tours of Site Summit - 2015 wait list already started
  • Completed stabilization of Guided Missile Maintenance Building - #5 of 6

For 2015, FONSS plans to complete stabilization of the Launch Control Building (#6) and will thus satisfy the programmatic agreement in place with Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.  We are excited to approach this milestone and hope you will join us and help us reach it!

FONSS made great progress last summer, replacing the roof, fixing windows, and making a major dent in the hazardous material abatement.  We estimate that it will require another $30,000 - $50,000 to finish the Launch Control Building.  FONSS is applying for grants; individual contributions are important and help leverage foundation and corporate donations.

Please consider making a fully tax-deductible donation to FONSS to help us finish the Launch Control Building.  You can make a secure donation through PayPal below.  Your donation in any amount will help preserve this slice of Alaska's Cold War history.  Thank you!
